The 'Dinh' Hills

The Nui Dinh Hills had been a VC fortified stronghold since the end of World War 11. Affectionately known as 'The Warbys' by Australian soldiers, it commanded views of Route 15, the main road out of Vung Tau and leading into Saigon, including the province capital Baria, and Route 2 the road passing through the Task Force. The hills were mine and booby trap infested. This photograph was taken from Luscombe Field.
