'Preparing To Dive' 2nd Tour

This 'Tunnel Rat' is fitting a gas mask prior to entering and searching a Viet Cong tunnel complex. His only protection was a colt .45 hand gun or a 9mm Browning pistol. These men where selected from the smaller members as the tunnels were small in diameter. This role was primarily the responsibility of the 'Sappers' or field engineers who accompanied the battalion on Operations.
