5RAR's RAP Sign at Nui Dat during 5RAR's 1st tour 5RAR's R.A.P. (Regimental Aid Post) Sign 1st Tour

This sign adorned the front of the RAP during 5RAR's 1st tour. Tony White, 5RAR's RMO during the 1st tour said:

'The “artist” was Private Noel Clare of the battalion Intelligence Section. I commissioned him to do it (I could see that he had a suitably mischievous mind.)

'The sign [a travesty of the RAAMC (Royal Australian Army medical Corps) badge] was mounted (after the General’s visit!) over the entrance to our shiny brand new Kingstrand hut which had replaced a couple of 11x11 tents as the RAP'.

'Unfortunately someone nicked it just before we were due to come home'.

'Sadly Noel Clare died in a motor bike accident in Terendak in the first year after RTA' (Return to Australia).
