105 Field Battery RAA 2nd Tour - Sometimes the six guns at the fire bases, were split into two sections, and three guns were moved to a secondary fire base to ensure that companies had artillery support at all times.
105mm M2A2 Pack Howitzer - The battery was equipped with six 105mm Howitzers. This battery, commanded by Major L.A.R. Thompson, fired over sixty thousand rounds in support of 5 RAR in both contact and harassing tasks.
105 Field Battery 1st Tour - Gunners unloading the guns at the gun position 'Tennis' on Operation Sydney One, July 1966. They were carried in APC's (shown in the rear) so that the Viet Cong would not know our strength.
Mortar Locating Radar System - This unit was designed and built to enable the artillery batteries to locate mortar bombs in flight then back track the trajectory to its source, enabling the battery to bring down fire upon the location in the hope of silencing the mortar and crew.
Fire Base Polly 2nd Tour - his was Operation Camden, July-August, 1969. The AO Mindy (Area of Operations) was defined by a ten thousand metre distance around Fire Base Polly.

The Battle of Binh Ba - on D Day, 6th June 1969, the 1st Battalion 33rd NVA Regiment fired on a passing Centurion Tank from the village of Binh Ba. For the next 48 hours 5RAR fought the Battle of Binh Ba. A large enemy force had been defeated.
