Lt.Col. (ret'd) Reg Sutton died on 26 June 2004 after a
long illness.
Reg Sutton was the company commander of A Company 5RAR from 1968 to 1970
including the complete tour of duty in South Vietnam.
Reg was a calm and courageous leader who was an
inspiration to his men. As the
citation for
his Military Cross states; "He commanded A Company with
distinction and outstanding success throughout
operations in 1969. His aggressive leadership and
skilful handling of his company achieved exemplary
results. His actions reflected great credit on himself,
his Company, the Regiment and the army."
David Wilkins.
5RAR 2nd Tour
Rob, Clay
and David and their families would like to express their
deep appreciation for the loving sympathy shown by all
members of the association following the death of our
beloved Reg.
It was particularly pleasing for the family to see
so many members of A Company who, in many cases,
travelled very long distances to be with Reg on his last
operation and the Honour Guard touched us all deeply. A
Company did him proud!
I also believe that some fifteen members of the
company could not attend due to ill health. Our thoughts
are also with them. |
