Fire Base Polly 2nd Tour

The guns of 105 Field Battery can be seen in the foreground. This was Operation Camden, July-August, 1969. The AO Mindy (Area of Operations) was defined by a ten thousand metre distance around Fire Base Polly. The operation had a duel aim. Firstly 5 RAR was to protect a U.S. Land Clearing Team and secondly, to conduct a Reconnaissance in Force (RF) operations to locate and destroy enemy main force units in AO Mindy.
