This is a shot of our 8 inch gun with the whole crew. I was an 'Ammo Humper'. My job was to get the round (set the fuse in some cases) to the gun. The 8 Inch round was well over 200 lbs (90 kg) and the 175 round was nearly 150 lbs (67 kgs). The 8 Inch was the most accurate of the two guns, that is within 5-8 miles (8-13 km) max. It could go further but with less accuracy. The 175 had a much longer distance capability.
